“In a world that is wrought with continual
strife, turmoil, and anger, it seems as if
there is no longer a haven for peace, joy,
understanding, and hope. But in this
world one such place does exist, and it
is known as Galwenor, the realm of Honor.”
~ Darius Warstone
Hero of Galwenor

Location: City of Orleans - The Mage's Guild located in the heart of Orleans has an ancient tie to the city. The first guildmaster, Eldroy Dunestane, was a resident in the city when it was first established by the elves centuries ago. His home became the first headquarters for what would become the Mage's Guild. The headquarters today, however, is a much more extensive compound much like a monastery with a tower dominating a central courtyard surrounded by several outbuildings which form a sort of defensive ring around the central tower. While it has never been used as a defensive fortification since it's construction over four hundred years ago, it would prove a worthy stronghold if the need arose.

Leadership: Belevon the Oakstaff (CG male elf wizard 20) - Belevon is the son of the first guildmaster of the Mage's Guild, Eldroy Dunestane. When Eldroy announced his retirement from the post, the entire Mage's Guild submits their choices for the new guildmaster and then vote on the final candidates. Belevon was voted as new guildmaster by a very small victory over his opponent, Drelgor Martisan, who has upkept a contempt for Belevon ever since. But Belevon has proven his leadership abilities time and time again throughout his years as guildmaster. Most members of the guild today actually joined for the reason of working with this well-respected mage, and some that were around even during his father's leadership as guildmaster remain beside Belevon as very faithful friends. However, while Belevon has the title of guildmaster, the actual guild is run more as a democracy where issues are decided and voted upon by the entire guild. The guildmaster's purpose is to help present issues to be discussed and perhaps voted upon, presiding over such discussions, and acting as somewhat of a general manager for the headquarters of the Mage's Guild in Orleans.

Members: 40 to 50 - The exact number of members to the Mage's Guild varies somewhat, but usually is around forty total people. These members are split by a traditional hierarchy of two groups. The mages with less magica aptitude or experience are known as the Adepts, while the most powerful and experienced mages make up the Elders. The exact line of what makes a mage an Adept or Elder is not defined as the actual titles are not defined. However, throughout the history of the Mage's Guild there are normaly no more than ten Elders at one time. The rest are thought of as the Adepts of the Mage's Guild. Most of the standard day-to-day work of the guild is performed by the Adepts, while Elders perform much more difficult tasks including the performing of complicated rituals or lengthy difficult research.

Secrecy: Limited - Almost all people in the realm have heard of the Mage's Guild in some way, even if they may not know much about them. The Mage's Guild does not work in any form of secrecy, and actually have their headquarters in Orleans open to the public for others to come and do research or receive magical assistance (for a fee, of course.) The only Mage's Guild has always had a strict policy of secrecy on any work they may do for individuals, however, as a means of helping to protect the privacy of anyone who may come for their assistance.
