“In a world that is wrought with continual
strife, turmoil, and anger, it seems as if
there is no longer a haven for peace, joy,
understanding, and hope. But in this
world one such place does exist, and it
is known as Galwenor, the realm of Honor.”
~ Darius Warstone
Hero of Galwenor

This clan has had a long proud history of military might, and continues to upkeep the reputation for having the best standing military of any clan. The cavalry force of the Balian clan is legendary for their discipline and efficiency. The clan also controls more castles through their lands than any other clan, and have them connected with a highly effective communication chain. But military might is not the only bragging rights that the Balian clan have: throughout their lands are valleys and plains that make for some of the best farmlands in all of Galwenor, making the Balian clan the second wealthiest in the kingdom.

The rich farmlands throughout the region allow for a large produce base on good seasons, and allow the Balian clan to make grain, livestock, and produce a large export of their region. Other resources that are rich in the area are timber from area woods, quarried stone, and weaponry. However, the clan does not have the overall wealth and economic strength of the Warstone clan. This is largely due to their militaristic means which sometimes inhibits the freedom of trade.

Leadership: Lord Tribold Balian (LG male human fighter 10/paladin 10)
The leader of the Balian clan, Lord Tribold, is a famous knight who has led several tactically brilliant and stunning victories in his lifetime. However, in recent years his age has been catching up with him more, and he has been working to entrust parts of his duties and instruct his sons in running the clan after his passing. It is a difficult situation, however, as Lord Tribold has three sons. While he hopes that he can set in place rules and teach his sons how to run the clan together, the people in the region fear there may be war brewing in the future over the ruling of the clan.

Capital: Rouena (Large City approx. 126,000; 90% human, 10% others)
The city of Rouena is placed in a very strategic location along the Rista River among several smaller farming communities. Because the city is located further inland instead of along the coast, it is harder for large shipping vessels to travel to the city. This was done mainly to prevent a naval attack on the city but also affects how much sailing trade can be done at the city. However, numerous roadways connect the city as the heart of the region’s trade, especially for the several farms in the area. It is a heavily fortified city wit a splendor and air of heroic warriors from long ago.

Provinces: Blackwood, Celene, Lorrise

Military: Exceptional (15,000 infantry, 6,000 cavalry, 3,000 supporting)
The military strength of the Balian clan is truly legendary. The noble leaders of the clan have a proud heritage of chivalry and instill this ideal to their soldiers. Their cavalry has long been revered for their power, and their infantry acts as a precision machine. Many of their soldiers undergo numerous years of training, spending less time as common workers. However, the Balian clan lacks a real naval fleet, mostly due to the lack of a sizeable port to host the naval fleet from, but it is working to fix this issue.
